As the anticipation builds for the action sports prodigy to make his NASCAR Nationwide debut in July, there are mixed emotions on whether or not Pastrana will be able to make the grade in NASCAR's second-tier series.?Top NASCAR drivers - and TP friends - Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon, are certainly supportive, but skeptical.?They suggested he go against his nature to jump right in and first compete in the Camping World Truck Series, one step below Nationwide.?

But that wouldn?t be Travis.?He?s known for jumping in head first, and always with the best.??You learn fastest that way.?The problem is, you sink fastest that way, too.??Travis would not be the first motocross racer to make the jump from two to four wheels.?Five-time AMA Supercross champ Ricky Carmichael, often known as the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) is currently racing in the Camping World Truck Series and pacing his ascent up the ladder.?
