Travis and Erik BASE Jump MGM Grand Hotel
Everyone knows that Travis is a little crazy. So to help promote the upcoming Nitro Circus Live show in Vegas, Travis and fellow Nitro teammate, Erik Roner, BASE jumped off the Signature towers at the MGM Grand at 7AM Wednesday morning, 30 minutes prior to schedule. ?It was getting windy and the forecast was supposed to get even more windy,? said Roner after the jump. ?We decided to do it earlier rather than risk it and wait. It was a higher wind than we normally jump in, but it was blowing in a direction that made it still safe for us to jump.?
The 390 foot tall towers have only been BASE jumped off legally once before by Shane McConkey and Miles Daisher in May of 2008 to help promote the launch of Red Bull Cole. ?It was a really rad setup,? Rainer said. The two guys jumped from the south corner of the building landing near the hotel?s valet.
Jumping from the top of hotels in Vegas isn?t necessarily something highly unusual, but it?s rarely legal. Luckily for TP and Roner, they got permission from the hotel and got to enjoy the ride.
The Nitro Crew is busy hoping between Vegas and Utah as they continue to film the Nitro Circus 3D movie, but will make it back to Vegas in time for Saturday night?s live show.
