Travis takes home Transworld's FMX Rider of the Year Award

A big congratulations goes out to DC Motocross riders Travis Pastrana and Trey Canard who took home major industry honors at last night?s 2010 TransWorld Motocross Awards. Held at the Grove in Anaheim, CA the Motocross industry?s elite came out to celebrate the annual awards and honor their peers as Travis and Trey won ?FMX Rider of the Year? and ?Readers? Choice? awards, respectively.

DC?s own legendary Moto and Rally athlete, Travis Pastrana proved his undeniable influence in the sport by winning ?FMX Rider Of The Year.? This is Travis? first TWMX award.

?I?m so honored to have won the TWMX FMX Rider of the Year,? said Travis. ?I felt like the underdog at X Games having not competed in a few years, so to have won X Games and now won this makes it all the more special. I couldn?t do it without all my amazing sponsors and fans whose support means the most to me. And special thanks to all my fellow riders for continually pushing not only me, but also the sport in general. Thank you.?

DC?s newest team member, Trey Canard, took home the ?Readers? Choice? award. His continued success during both the SX and MX seasons proved enough for the TransWorld Motocross readers to bestow him this year?s honors.

?I?m very honored and excited,? said Trey. ?It?s surprising ? and really special to receive that kind of award not only from TransWorld but from the voters who decided!?

Also nominated for ?FMX Rider of the Year? was DC?s Robbie Maddison. 2010 has been a great year for Robbie, in April he traveled to Greece where he jumped 279 feet over the Corinth Canal and this past summer he took home his first X Games medal, a Silver in Moto X Best Trick.

Along with Travis and Trey, who were both in attendance to accept their awards, DC?s Robbie Maddison, Jeremy McGrath, and Josh Hill were also at the awards event last night.
