Great Divide Part 2
Wednesday morning, Travis and crew pulled into Steamboat Springs, CO for the upcoming round of the Rally America championship. Ten days on the Great Divide trail left Pastrana beaten up from flipping cars and racing mountain bikes downhill at 48mph. Yet even after nearly 1,200 miles of back country trails, the lingering frustration of missing his attempt at the elusive 720 during X Games 15 could not be shaken.
Having completed the first half of his journey a couple days early, Travis and his crew built an ad hoc jump set-up. Freestyle kicker to dirt landing. After near misses all afternoon, Travis dialed it in and stuck it! Fists pumped and friends cheered as Travis wiped the sweat from his brow.
This weekend, Pastrana shifts his focus to rally. Already having claimed the title, he will be testing new setups for Subaru to help further their rally program. Come Monday morning, Travis will complete the final legs of the Great Divide trail, Travis will be keeping the following schedule:
9/20-25: Steamboat Springs, CO - Hartsel, CO
9/25-30: Hartsel, CO - El Rito, NM
10/1-5: El Rito, NM - Tres Lagunas, NM
Stay tuned as Travis turns back on his GPS this upcoming Monday, 9/21.
